Create a Site
Create a site when you need a destination where Atomicat pages can be published.
A site can start with an Atomicat-provided domain and later be connected to a custom domain. This lets you build, publish, test, and improve pages before sending traffic to a branded URL.
Before you create a site
Make sure you know:
- The campaign, brand, product, or client the site belongs to
- Whether you want to publish with an Atomicat domain first
- Whether a custom domain will be connected later
- Which project should contain the site, if you use projects
- Whether your plan includes the site and hosting features you need
Create a site
- Open Sites from the Atomicat dashboard.
- Select Create Site.
- Enter a clear site name.
- Review the domain preview shown in the modal.
- Confirm the creation.
- Wait for Atomicat to create the site.
- Open the site from the Sites list when it is ready.
The site name helps Atomicat create or identify the publishing destination. Depending on your account setup, Atomicat may add a generated suffix or use a configured hosting domain.
Choosing a good site name
Use names that describe the campaign or destination clearly.
Good examples:
main-brandproduct-launchwebinar-funnellead-generationclient-name-campaign
Avoid vague names such as:
testnew-sitesite1landing
Clear names reduce mistakes when you manage many campaigns or publish multiple pages.
How site creation works
When a site is created, Atomicat prepares a publishing destination. Depending on your account setup and modules, this may include:
- An Atomicat domain or subdomain
- A hosting destination
- A project association
- A site status while setup is processing
- Available actions such as connect domain, open site, or manage hosting options
If the site is still being created, you may see an in-progress state before the live URL is ready.
Site creation and projects
If a project is selected when you create a site, Atomicat can assign the site to that project.
This is useful when you manage:
- Multiple clients
- Multiple products
- Separate campaigns
- Different traffic sources
- Different brands or languages
Common reasons site creation may fail
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| Plan limitation | Your plan may limit the number of sites or require a paid subscription. |
| Invalid name | The site name may include unsupported characters or be too long. |
| Duplicate setup | A similar site or domain may already exist. |
| Hosting limit | Your account may have reached a site or hosting limit. |
| Temporary service issue | Try again later or contact support if the issue continues. |
Best practices
- Create the site before building a complete publishing workflow.
- Keep the site name short and descriptive.
- Use a project when the site belongs to a larger campaign.
- Test the Atomicat domain before connecting a custom domain.
- Do not delete a site unless you are sure no active pages depend on it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a custom domain to create a site?
No. You can create a site and publish using an Atomicat domain first.
Can I connect a domain after creating the site?
Yes. After the site exists, you can connect a custom domain from the Sites area.
Why do I see a loading or in-progress status?
Atomicat may still be preparing the hosting destination. Wait for the process to finish before testing the live URL.
Can I create unlimited sites?
Site limits depend on your plan, subscription, modules, and account configuration.
