Unpublish
Unpublishing removes a page from its live publishing path or clears the connection between the page and its published URL.
Use unpublishing when a page should no longer be publicly available, when a campaign has ended, or when you need to free a slug for a different page.
When to unpublish a page
Unpublish a page when:
- A campaign has ended.
- A page was published by mistake.
- The page contains outdated information.
- You need to replace a page at the same slug.
- A test page should not remain public.
- You are cleaning up old funnel steps.
Before you unpublish
Check whether the live URL is used in:
- Ads
- Email campaigns
- SMS campaigns
- Social posts
- QR codes
- Affiliate links
- Webhooks or integrations
- Team documents
- Thank-you page redirects
If traffic is still active, unpublishing can interrupt the visitor journey.
Unpublish a page
- Open the area where your pages are listed.
- Select the published page.
- Choose the unpublish action.
- Confirm the action.
- Test the old URL.
- Update ads, links, or redirects if needed.
Depending on your account setup, unpublishing may be available as an individual page action or as a bulk action for selected published pages.
Bulk unpublishing
Bulk unpublishing can help when you need to remove multiple published pages at once.
Use it carefully. Before bulk unpublishing, confirm:
- Every selected page should go offline.
- No active paid traffic points to those URLs.
- No funnel step depends on those pages.
- You have a plan to republish or redirect if needed.
Clearing published pages from a site
Some site setups may include an option to clear published pages from a site.
This is stronger than unpublishing one page. It can affect multiple live paths under the same site.
Use this only when:
- You understand which pages will be affected.
- The campaign is finished.
- You are intentionally resetting the site.
- You have backed up or can republish required pages.
What happens after unpublishing
After unpublishing:
- The page may no longer have a live domain and slug.
- The previous URL may stop loading the page.
- The slug may become available for another page.
- Ads and external links pointing to the URL may break.
- Leads may stop coming from that page.
Best practices
- Never unpublish an active ad destination without pausing or updating ads first.
- Export or review leads before removing important campaign pages.
- Keep a record of old URLs for reporting.
- Use clear naming so old pages are easy to identify.
- Test the old URL after unpublishing.
- Consider whether a replacement page or redirect is needed.
