How to Connect Funnel Steps Between Pages

In the funnel editor, each page appears as a card on a canvas. You define the visitor journey by linking one page to the next with directional arrows.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • A funnel already created with at least two page cards on the canvas.
  • Published pages β€” unpublished steps can block save.
  • A clear intended order (landing β†’ offer β†’ checkout, etc.).

See How to create a funnel if you have not created the funnel yet.

Step 1: Open the Funnel Editor

  1. Open AtomicFunnel.
  2. Click the funnel you want to edit from the list.
  3. Confirm each step appears as a page card on the canvas.

The first page may only show an outgoing connection side; middle and last pages show in and out points as applicable.

  1. Find the connection points on the sides of each card (typically out on the right, in on the left).
  2. Click and drag from the out point on page A to the in point on page B.
  3. Release when the line attaches β€” a directional arrow appears between the two pages.

Repeat for each step in visitor order until the full path is drawn.

See Connect funnel steps (reference) and Connection rules.

Step 3: Review the Full Path

Before saving, confirm:

  • One outgoing link per page (no split paths).
  • One incoming link per page (except the first step).
  • No loops back to earlier steps.
  • No disconnected cards sitting outside the chain.

The editor may re-order cards horizontally left-to-right when you save so the sequence is easy to read.

Step 4: Save the Funnel

  1. Click Save.
  2. Fix any validation messages β€” common issues include unpublished pages, loops, or extra links.
  3. Re-open the canvas and verify arrows match your intended journey.

Use Analytics from the header when you want reporting instead of editing.

Deleting or Replacing a Step

When you remove a page from the middle of a chain, the editor tries to keep surrounding links sensible. Always review arrows before saving after a deletion.

To add another step later, see How to add pages to a funnel.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to try
Link disappears after drawingThe editor blocked a rule violation (second outgoing link, loop, or second incoming link). Read the on-screen message.
Save failsPublish every page on the canvas; reconnect any disconnected card.
Wrong step orderDelete the incorrect arrow and redraw links in the correct sequence.

Outcome

Your funnel has a saved, sequential visitor path. Traffic that follows page-to-page navigation inside the funnel can be measured step by step in Funnel analytics.

FAQ

Can one page send visitors to two different next pages?

No. The product is built for a single next step per page so analytics stay a clear sequence.

My new link disappeared

The editor blocks links that would break the rules (for example a second outgoing link from the same page, a second incoming link to the same page, or a loop). Check the on-screen message or warning panel, then adjust the layout.

Do buttons on the page need to match funnel links?

Visitors must actually reach the next step URL for analytics to reflect the journey. Align on-page CTAs and redirects with your funnel sequence.
