Thumbnails, pause image, and exit image

AtomicPlayer distinguishes three still images around playback:

AssetRole
Initial thumbThe poster shoppers see before play starts (when not overridden by Magic Autoplay art).
Pause thumbOptional frame shown around paused states in the player chrome.
Exit thumbOptional art used when the viewer leaves or completes certain flows—useful for downsell or next step visuals.

Magic Autoplay uses a separate image workflow. See Magic Autoplay so you do not confuse the autoplay overlay with the poster.

Upload or change an image

  1. Open Video settings for the file.
  2. In the thumbnails section, pick Initial, Pause, or Exit.
  3. Use upload or select to open the image popup.
  4. Save—successful responses show a toast such as “The selected image will be used… Update the embed code on your pages.”

Remove an image

Use the remove control on a preview tile, then save or update the video placement so the old artwork is no longer used.

Design tips

  • Keep text legible at 320px width—most traffic is mobile.
  • Pause and exit images should match the emotional beat of your script (problem → agitation → solution).
  • Avoid tiny disclaimers; regulated industries may need legal review on exit frames advertising offers.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my new poster not show on the live page?

You must copy the new embed or republish the Atomicat page using the Video block so the attributes referencing the image path refresh.

Can I use GIFs?

The UI copy mentions GIF support for uploads in places—test performance on mobile before shipping.
