Video metrics

The metrics tab (sometimes labeled analytics in menus) is where you quantify how a hosted file performs: views, plays, play rate, engagement, and time watched.

Open metrics

From Manage videos, use the row options → Analytics to open reporting for that video.

Typical widgets

Depending on stack and data availability, you may see:

  • Totals — Views, plays, unique impressions, minutes watched.
  • Play rate — Plays divided by qualified views (wording follows UI).
  • Engagement — Average scroll or attention proxies where enabled.
  • Charts — Line chart for the selected period.
  • Next update — Some builds show when analytics refresh (timezone note in product copy).

Date filters

Choose Since always, Today, Last 7 / 14 / 30 days, or a custom span. Custom ranges that lack start or end may show validation errors (same pattern as page analytics elsewhere in Atomicat).

Using metrics with experiments

  • Pair Smart Progress (guide) changes with before/after metrics windows.
  • When testing Magic Autoplay (guide), keep UTM tags consistent so you do not confuse traffic quality with player changes.

Frequently asked questions

Why are metrics empty right after upload?

Processing and analytics pipelines can lag minutes to hours. Wait for the next update badge or try again later.

Do metrics include external embeds?

Yes—any origin allowed by Authorize a domain counts, not only Atomicat pages.
