The screen showed a short code
Copy the code exactly. Several codes are used on more than one screen, so say what you were doing. Do not change the letters. Tickets often write UUUTY. The code on the screen is UUUYT.

Publish and domain connection on an unpaid account also show Please subscribe to a paid plan. That sentence is not one of the codes above.
A second DNS record set, sometimes including CAA, is a different case from UUUYT. Copy the new records from the Dns popup and click To Check again. See SSL.

Yes. Send the exact code, the screen, the hostname or page name, and a screenshot. Do not retype the code from memory.
Is UUUYT a DNS problem?
No. DNS already passed. The failure is the step after that.
