Page Revisions
Page revisions help protect important pages from accidental changes.
When available, revisions let you review previous saved versions of a page and recover a version when needed.
What revisions are used for
Use revisions when:
- A page was edited by mistake.
- A design change needs to be reversed.
- You want to compare an older campaign version.
- You need to recover a previous layout.
- You want to create a new page from an older version.
Access requirements
Revision and backup features can depend on:
- Plan
- Account permissions
- Backup access
- Page type
- Whether the page is managed by the current user
Some free accounts or accounts without backup access may not have revision actions.
View page revisions
- Open the page or page management area.
- Find the page.
- Open the revision or backup workflow when available.
- Review the list of saved revisions.
- Select the revision you want to inspect.
Restore a revision
Restoring a revision updates the page using a previous version.
Before restoring:
- Confirm the revision is the correct one.
- Consider duplicating the current page first.
- Check whether the current page is live.
- Warn team members who may be editing the page.
After restoring, review the page in the builder before publishing or sending traffic.
Create a page from a revision
Some workflows allow creating a new page from a revision instead of overwriting the current page.
Use this when you want to preserve the current version and recover an older version as a separate page.
Best practices
- Duplicate important pages before major redesigns.
- Use revisions to recover from mistakes, not as the primary version-control workflow.
- Review restored pages before publishing.
- Check forms, products, tracking, and mobile layout after restore.
- Create a new page from a revision when you are unsure whether to overwrite the current version.
Frequently asked questions
Are revisions available for every account?
No. Revision availability can depend on plan, backup access, and account configuration.
Does restoring a revision publish the page?
Not necessarily. Restoration affects page content. Publishing status should be checked separately.
Can I recover a deleted page with revisions?
Deleted page restore and revision restore are separate workflows. Deleted page recovery depends on backup access.
Should I duplicate a page before restoring?
For important live campaigns, duplicating first is a safer approach.
