SEO and Metadata

The SEO tab in Page settings stores the metadata that search engines and social platforms read when your page is indexed or shared. The Optimizer tab (first tab in the same Page settings window) configures ad-platform-specific behavior and can require extra fields that work together with this tab.

Open Page settings from the Page Builder, then open the SEO tab to edit metadata.

Fields in the SEO tab

FieldPurpose
Page titlePrimary HTML title; used in search results and browser tabs.
DescriptionMeta description shown under the title in many search results.
KeywordKeywords meta content when you use the standard keywords field.
Product nameOptional product label stored with the page for metadata and context.
AuthorAuthor name; useful for credibility and for Google Ads optimization when that mode is enabled.
Share imageImage used for Open Graph sharing (og:image) when applicable.
FaviconSmall icon for the browser tab.
Canonical linksList of canonical URLs with name and URL pairs to reduce duplicate-content issues.
Custom meta tagsAdditional name and content pairs beyond the built-in fields.
SEO languageLanguage signal used with SEO tooling on the page.

Built-in checks in the UI highlight common issues (for example title length near 70 characters, description length near 155 characters, and distinct title versus description).

Custom meta tags

Add rows with a name and content. You can enter plain text or paste a full <meta> tag; the product can extract name and content when the paste is valid.

Some tags are restricted and must use dedicated fields instead. Examples called out in the product:

  • Use the Author field for the author, not a custom author meta row.
  • Use the main Description field for the primary description.
  • For og:title and og:description when optimizing for Meta Ads, use the Optimizer tab and enable Optimize this page for Meta Ads, then fill OG Title and OG Description there.
  • Use Share image for og:image. og:type and og:url are set automatically from the page type and URL.

Optimizer tab (ad campaigns)

The Optimizer tab is separate from the SEO tab but shares data with it.

ControlWhat it does
This page is the destination URL for an active ad campaignAdds security-oriented behavior so the page is harder to embed on unrelated sites, which many ad platforms expect for destination URLs.
Optimize this page for Meta AdsAligns the page for Facebook and Instagram ads with appropriate Open Graph behavior. Requires a title and description suitable for social sharing. Cannot be on at the same time as Google Ads optimization.
Optimize this page for Google AdsAdjusts meta behavior for Google Ads (for example Open Graph handling and search visibility rules). Requires title, author, and description in the SEO tab, and the page cannot be hidden from search engines while this option is on. Mutually exclusive with Meta Ads optimization.
Allow this page to be embedded via iframeOptional; turn on only if you intentionally embed this page on other sites. Most paid traffic destinations should leave this off.

If validation fails, the product shows messages such as missing fields for the selected optimization mode or conflicts between Hide page in search engines and Google Ads optimization.

  1. Set page title and description for humans and search.
  2. Add share image and favicon before publishing or running ads.
  3. Add canonical links only when you have clear duplicate URLs to consolidate.
  4. Turn on Optimizer options only when you run the matching ad platform, then complete OG Title and OG Description for Meta or the required SEO fields for Google.
  5. Save Page settings, then save the page in the builder.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I set Open Graph title and description for Meta Ads?

Use Page settings → Optimizer, enable Optimize this page for Meta Ads, and use OG Title and OG Description. Do not duplicate them as unrestricted custom meta tags.

Why does Google Ads optimization require the author field?

The product enforces title, author, and description together for Google Ads optimization so required metadata is complete before publishing.

Can I hide my page from Google and still use Google Ads optimization?

No. When Optimize this page for Google Ads is enabled, hiding the page from search engines is not allowed.
