How to Connect AtomicMCP to ChatGPT

AtomicMCP connects your Atomicat workspace to ChatGPT so you can ask analytics questions, summarize performance, compare funnels, and get marketing recommendations with Atomicat context. ChatGPT is especially useful for analytics, summaries, comparisons, and broad marketing analysis.

This guide covers the full connector setup.

What You Need Before Connecting

RequirementWhy it matters
Atomicat account with AtomicMCP accessChatGPT reads workspace context through the connector.
ChatGPT account with apps or connector supportConnector features vary by plan and rollout.
MCP Server URL from AtomicatRequired during connector creation.
Correct Atomicat loginAuthentication ties the connector to one workspace.

Note: For detailed page creation and builder editing, Claude is generally the stronger recommendation. ChatGPT excels at analysis, summaries, and strategic questions. See Connect Claude if you need heavy page-building workflows.

Step 1: Copy Your MCP Server URL from Atomicat

  1. Log in to Atomicat.
  2. Open AtomicMCP from the sidebar.
  3. Find Your MCP Server URL.
  4. Click Copy URL.

Treat the URL like a workspace connection secret—do not post it in public channels. See MCP Server URL.

If ChatGPT rejects the base URL, try the same address with /mcp appended at the end.

Step 2: Open ChatGPT Connector Settings

  1. Open ChatGPT.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open Apps, Connectors, or the custom integrations area (label varies by account).
  4. If ChatGPT asks for developer mode or advanced connector access, enable it when required for your plan.

ChatGPT connector UI changes over time. Check the official ChatGPT help center if you cannot find connector settings.

Step 3: Create the AtomicMCP Connector

  1. Choose Create connector or Add connector.
  2. Name it clearly (for example Atomicat or AtomicMCP).
  3. Paste the MCP Server URL copied from Atomicat.
  4. Save the connector.

Step 4: Authenticate with Atomicat

  1. When prompted, complete the Atomicat sign-in flow.
  2. Use the account that should access the target workspace.
  3. Approve the connection.

If authentication opens the wrong account, sign out of Atomicat in your browser and connect again with the correct user.

Step 5: Start a Chat and Enable AtomicMCP

  1. Start a new ChatGPT conversation.
  2. Open the tools or connectors picker in the chat.
  3. Select AtomicMCP (or your named Atomicat connector).

The connector must be active in the conversation before ChatGPT can use Atomicat context.

Step 6: Test the Connection

Try a clear, low-risk prompt with a defined time range:

  • “Summarize my traffic this month.”
  • “Which funnel should I improve first?”
  • “Show me the biggest lead sources and what I should do next.”
  • “Compare my top pages from the last 7 days.”

Good prompts include dates, page names, or funnel names so ChatGPT scopes the answer correctly.

What You Can Do After Connecting

Use caseExample prompt
Traffic summary“Summarize visits and conversions for the last 14 days.”
Funnel comparison“Which funnel step has the worst drop-off this month?”
Lead analysis“What patterns do you see in recent form leads?”
Campaign planning“Based on my top pages, what should I test next week?”
Video performance“Compare my top videos this month and recommend one for ads.”

Always verify numbers and recommendations inside Atomicat before making business-critical decisions.

Best Practices

  • Use explicit time ranges (“last 7 days,” “this month,” exact dates).
  • Name the page, funnel, site, or video you want analyzed.
  • Ask for both a recommendation and the evidence behind it.
  • Review results in Atomicat dashboards before changing live campaigns.
  • Reconnect after AtomicMCP updates when Atomicat shows a new version.

See Example prompts and MCP tools and categories.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to try
Cannot find connector settingsCheck your ChatGPT plan; connector UI varies by rollout.
Connector saved but not activeSelect AtomicMCP in the tools menu of the current chat.
URL errorCopy fresh from Atomicat; try /mcp endpoint if needed.
Wrong workspace dataRe-authenticate with the correct Atomicat account.
Vague answersAdd page names, funnel names, and date ranges to your prompt.

Outcome

ChatGPT is now connected to Atomicat through AtomicMCP. You can ask analytics and marketing questions with workspace context, then validate answers inside Atomicat before acting on them.

FAQ

Why can't I find connector settings in ChatGPT?

ChatGPT connector features vary by account, plan, and rollout. Check Settings and the official ChatGPT help center for the current location of apps or connectors.

Is ChatGPT best for editing pages in the builder?

ChatGPT is strong for analytics and strategy. Claude is generally recommended for page creation, editing, cloning, and longer step-by-step builder workflows.

What makes a good first prompt after connecting?

Use a clear time range and name the asset you care about, such as a funnel, page, or lead source. Example: Summarize my funnel performance for the last 30 days.

Should I trust ChatGPT numbers without checking Atomicat?

No. Always verify metrics and recommendations inside Atomicat before changing live pages, budgets, or funnels.

Do I need a different MCP URL for ChatGPT vs Claude?

No. Both clients use the same MCP Server URL from your Atomicat AtomicMCP screen, though each client may format the endpoint slightly differently during setup.
