Connect desktop apps
Some desktop AI apps support remote connectors. When they do, you can connect AtomicMCP the same way you connect it on the web: copy the MCP Server URL from Atomicat, add it as a connector, sign in, and enable it inside a chat.
Recommended desktop path
- Update your desktop AI app to the latest version.
- Open the app’s Connectors or Customize area.
- Choose the option to add a custom or remote connector.
- Paste the MCP Server URL copied from Atomicat.
- Sign in to Atomicat when prompted.
- Open a new chat and confirm AtomicMCP appears in the available tools or connectors.
If the desktop app does not show connectors
Connector support can vary by app version, operating system, and account plan.
Try this order:
- Update the desktop app.
- Fully quit and reopen it.
- Check the app’s official docs for remote connector support.
- Use the web version of Claude or ChatGPT if the desktop app does not yet support the connector flow you need.
Best practices
- Prefer the app’s official connector UI when available.
- Avoid editing local app configuration unless your AI client explicitly instructs you to do so.
- Reconnect after Atomicat shows a newer AtomicMCP version is available.
- Use a test prompt before asking the AI client to change pages, funnels, or settings.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a desktop app?
No. Web-based Claude or ChatGPT can be enough if they support the connector setup you need.
Should I paste manual configuration snippets from old guides?
Use the official connector flow first. Manual configuration can change between AI client versions and is easier to get wrong.
